RESCUE ME!

Rescue me from this world of madness

Fill my heart with joy and gladness,

I shudder from conflicts and dispute

Instead I’ll sing and play the lute

 

I never knew the sky was red

Or roses were blue and violets bled,

I am running as fast as I can

Without dreams or even a plan

 

Lessons of life learned in pain

Makes us strong as we rise again,

Time creeps by oh so slowly

But I’ll get there surely

 

My destination, I know not

Content with what I’ve got

Perhaps one day, I’ll find my place

With faith in God, I’ll win this race
