ONLY IF!
Only if, the US Supreme Court did not appoint G.W. Bush as President
Today, millions of hearts would not be rent,
Twenty-five hundred plus soldiers, would still have life
Twenty-thousand plus, would not be living in strife

Our credibility would still be intact
And that is an unequivocal fact,
We would not be borrowing three billion dollars per day
Surpluses, would have kept us from going financially astray

There would not have been any wanton invasion
We would not be living in such derision,
Our liberties and principles would not be deduced
Polices of rendition and torture, would not be misused

So, then, what would we still have?

Egregious, Saddam Hussein would still be in power
In military garb as the tin-pot dictator,
As a dog who barks but does not bite
With continued sanctions, he would have no respite!

We all live in houses of clay, with the foundation in the dust which emphasizes the mortality and fragility of human existence; it is as precarious as a “tent” in the midst of a windstorm! Let us this day make our escutcheon, the munitions of our immutable God!
